  • Player/Coach safety

    • Minimize player contact by eliminating team/player handshakes and high-fives.

    • Managers meeting at home plate should be limited to one coach from each team, plus the umpires. No players at the plate meeting.

    • If player equipment is shared, we recommend taking precautions to clean the equipment in between use.  In Phases 2 and 3, the sharing of catchers gear is not allowed.

    • Teams are encouraged to spread players out – expand the dugout, staying clear of foul ball areas.  Limit bench/dugout to essential team personnel.

    • Players may wear personal protective items, such as masks and gloves, as long as the items do not compromise the safety of any and all participants in the game.

    • The use of dugout water coolers and otherwise shared water bottles is discouraged.

    • Teams are required to clean their dugout of all trash and other items before and after each game, and to wipe down hard surfaces such as benches, bat racks, etc with sanitizing products.

    • Each team will pitch with their own balls to limit ball contact to players of the same team.  The umpire will not have contact with the ball.  Teams need to have balls on the ready for when a ball goes out of play.  Teams will disinfect balls before each game.  All balls must be an official Perfect Game ball.

    • Awards ceremonies will not take place, however the General Manager of the event will hand awards to the coaches. Team pictures will be at the discretion of coaches and parents.

    • Perfect Game Love medals, All State Game Invitation Cards, and any other recognition from a coach to an opposing team player – players will be selected by the opposing team coach but the award will be handed to the player by their own coach.  Coaches will receive the physical items to be distributed at coaches check-in.

    • Umpires will maintain their normal positions and will not be moved behind the mound or otherwise around the field.

    • First aid supplies and services will be limited or not available. Teams are encouraged to bring their own ice packs, bandaids, ointments, etc.

  • General safety

    • All event attendees are required to practice social distancing and are asked to avoid congregating in large clusters (15 in Phase 2, 45 in Phase 3).  This policy does not apply to the participants on the field.

    • Bring water.  Water fountains will not be available and the concessions staff will not be able to provide ice or fill water bottles for patrons.

    • Players, coaches and fans are encouraged to bring hand sanitizer and antibacterial wipes for disinfecting hands and equipment regularly.

    • Fans are encouraged to bring their own chairs to all events as bleachers have been removed from the complex entirely.

    • The use of sunflower seeds, and anything else that is spit from a mouth to the ground, is prohibited.

    • When using a tent, please restrict it to family members only.

    • All in attendance must adhere to the guidelines from the CDC, state and local authorities regarding travel restrictions and stay-at-home orders.  All teams playing in Kansas must be registered in Kansas (Phase 2).

    • Attendance by those that are most vulnerable is discouraged.

    • Personal protective equipment is not required but is encouraged.

    • Lines around restrooms, concession stands or otherwise throughout the event are discouraged, but if necessary, please maintain a distance of 6 feet at all times.

    • For events where team prepaid gate passes are used, the pass must be purchased before the team is allowed to take the field. In situations where capacity is limited, coaches will receive passes in their coaches packet to indicate the number of admits per team. Passes must be shown to enter the facility and all passholders must have their passes on them at all times and present them to Perfect Game Midwest officials and/or the General Manager when asked.

    • Spectators, coaches and players are encouraged to leave the facility (parking lot included) immediately upon completion of the game.  Tailgating and other similar gatherings are discouraged.

    • Spectators should not enter the facility before game time. Coaches and Players should not enter earlier than 30 minutes before game time.
