SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

PURPOSE: To provide scholarships to four (4) deserving participants of the Top Gun Invitational who exhibit outstanding character, high school academics, and community involvement. Awards will be given to a high school senior competing in the 18 & under division only. *This scholarship will in no way be awarded based on athletic achievement or performance.

AWARD COMPONENTS: The Top Gun Scholarship Fund Committee will review all applications before selecting an outside committee to oversee and select the four (4) winners to be awarded a $1,000 scholarship each. Once awarded, checks will be mailed directly to the accredited college or university upon evidence of registration.

CRITERIA: Applicant must be a participant in the 2023 Top Gun Invitational (18U division) and will be a freshman in the upcoming fall school year.

Applicant must demonstrate positive-impact involvement – in the complete sense – consistent with capacity and circumstances and/or significant improvement/success in scholarship and community involvement, backed by letters of recommendation.

APPLICATION PROCESS: 

  1. Complete this application form.
  2. Submit two (2) letters of recommendation from choice of high school teachers, administrators, counselors, employers, or individual with significant knowledge of applicant’s experience and involvement.
  3. Submit a copy of your most recent high school transcript with cumulative grade point average and a class standing/rank.
  4. Submit a letter of application addressed to the Top Gun Scholarship Committee. The letter should contain a brief explanation of career goals and biographical (background) information as well as why you feel you deserve to be awarded a Top Gun Invitational Scholarship.
