Top Gun GAME is an innovative, all-in-one softball talent evaluation event designed to launch and elevate players’ recruiting profiles. Powered by tagup’s advanced technology platform and presented by Top Gun Events, a tagup Event Partner led by industry veteran Robb Behymer, Top Gun GAME combines real game experience, professional assessment, detailed metrics, and thorough evaluation to provide a comprehensive picture of a player’s abilities and potential in a single, efficient package.

Event Structure
Players/Teams
Minimum requirements:
- 48 players per event
- 4 teams of 12 players each
- 1-day intensive evaluation
Rosters
Teams are algorithmically balanced, each consisting of:
- 2 Pitchers
- 2 Catchers
- 4 Infielders
- 4 Outfielders

- Speed (10/20/40 yard sprint)
- Agility (5-10-5 shuttle run)
- Throwing (velocity)
- Hitting (exit velocity, peak hand speed, & attack angle)

Top Gun Metrics Leaderboard
As players complete their metrics assessments, their results are immediately displayed on the Top Gun Metrics Leaderboard. This real-time leaderboard includes:
- Player rankings for each metric category
- Video clips of top performances
- Position-specific comparisons
- Age group breakdowns
The leaderboard is visible to all participants and coaches throughout the event, creating an exciting, competitive atmosphere and allowing players to see how they stack up against their peers.
Star Rating System
Points in each category are converted to a 1-5 star ranking:
- 1 Star: 0-20 points
- 2 Stars: 21-40 points
- 3 Stars: 41-60 points
- 4 Stars: 61-80 points
- 5 Stars: 81-100 points
Overall Player Evaluation
- Calculate star rankings for game performance and metrics assessment separately.
- Combine these two star ratings with equal weight (50% each).
- The final overall star ranking provides a comprehensive evaluation of the player’s total performance and potential.
Player Feedback and Reporting
Each player receives:
- Detailed scorecard with points and star ratings for each category
- Comprehensive metrics report with all measured data
- Written evaluation from Top Gun Certified Analysts, including strengths and areas for improvement
- Overall star ranking and position-specific percentile ranking among event participants
- Digital profile for sharing with college recruiters, including video highlights
- Personalized development plan based on evaluation results
- Custom generated playlists on their channel on tagup
- Rankings on both the Top Gun Metrics Leaderboard and Top Gun Game Performance Leaderboard
Event Day Schedule (Example)
- 8:00 AM – Check-in and warm-up
- 9:00 AM – Metrics Assessment (with real-time leaderboard updates)
- 10:45 AM– Off/Def evaluations
- 12:00 PM – Lunch
- 12:30 PM – Off/Def evaluations
- 2:00 PM – 8 inning simulated game
- 4:00 PM– Event conclusion and initial feedback
Post-Event
- Within 3 days: Comprehensive player reports and digital profiles delivered electronically
- Within 3 days: Video highlights and custom generated playlists available on player’s tagup channel

After the event, the Top Gun Game Performance Leaderboard is published, showcasing:
- Overall player rankings based on game performance

This leaderboard, along with the Metrics Leaderboard, provides players with valuable exposure and allows them to see how they performed relative to their peers. Both leaderboards are accessible through the player’s tagup channel, making it easy for college recruiters to view comprehensive performance data and video highlights in one place.
