Stay to Play Policy

Purpose

Top Gun Events partners with Group Housing and community tourism partners to secure room blocks that support our tournaments and events. These partnerships allow us to offer discounted rates, ensure adequate accommodations for teams, and help host communities support the events.

Teams that choose not to participate in the Top Gun Events Stay-to-Play program are required to pay a Hotel Buyout Fee in lieu of booking within the approved hotel block.

Buyout Fee Structure by Event Length

Because Top Gun Events tournaments vary in length, the buyout fee is based on the number of days in the tournament, which reflects the number of hotel nights typically required by teams.

Two-Day Tournament

• Buyout Fee: $500 per team

Three-Day Tournament

• Buyout Fee: $750 per team

Four-Day Tournament

• Buyout Fee: $1,000 per team

Payment Requirements

• The buyout fee applies per team registered in the event.
• The buyout fee is due the same day as the tournament payment deadline.
• Teams that do not book within the official Top Gun Events hotel block will be identified by Group Housing.
• Teams that do not comply with the Stay-to-Play policy or pay the buyout fee may be ineligible to participate in the event and will not be scheduled for games.

Compliance

Teams located more than 100 miles from the event venue are required to participate in the Stay-to-Play policy or pay the buyout fee. Teams that book through the official Top Gun Events housing provider will not be charged the buyout fee, but they must reserve a minimum of 8 rooms for the full duration of the event. If the reservation does not meet the 8-room minimum, the team will be required to pay the buyout fee.
